I plan on putting 245/40-17 on 17X8 and 315/35-17 on 17X11 Campy clones on a stock bodied 73 L
Any issues?

I have that set up with the exception of the front tires are 235 not 245 on my 74 L with no problems. It is a stock body car with stock suspension including oem spring spacers. It does NOT appear to be a tight fit.

Tire recomendation: YOKOHAMA.
The Yokohama AVS Sport is available in the 315/35ZR17 size. The Michelin is not. It is available in 335/35ZR17. The Yokohama will require the least amount of balance weights, it will have the quietest ride and the best (smallest) slip angles.
