Windshield stone chips

Pay the $35-$55 for a windshield repair service. Essentially, it's the same kit/process, but it's done by someone experienced at doing it.

I tried one of the Autozone kits myself once and I found it difficult, which probably contributed to the less than desired results. Following the directions, it popped off the glass at one point spraying/splashing the resin solution onto my fender which is caustic to the paint. The whole process was a PITA and I swore I'd never attempt it again only to save $15-$20.

I had a chip close to the edge of the glass. a bit over an inch away maybe. During the prep for the injection repair the chip turned into a crack that ran right up the windshield.

The upside was that I wound up with a new glue in windshield after all was said and done.

Heck, around here there are people who set up shop in parking lots with a banner that says they fix chips for free? Not sure if its a gimmick or not? Can't remember seeing what Co. it is?
