What is the recommended/best oil type to use in the Pantera transmission. I want to change the oil and since synthetics were not readily available 25 years ago, is this the best way to go in a transmission this old. Thanks, Brian
Hello, synthetic oil Motul, Moblil 1, Valvoline all good,It will help shift smoother, ,you can run the standard 80-90wt as most owner do with no problem.I am installing a 6-speed this weekend in my pantera and I am going to use Motul synthetic. The key is to change you tranny oil on a regular basis to keep an eye on it,like after a long run or after a track event weekend

I dont beleave so,with the ZF I have heard alot of talk about this, but like on the diff not working right,a diff has 2 thrust washers and 2 laminated disc like a clutch, the diff needs service after time, the disc wear out and so do the thrust washers,if you stick with a good oil and diff is in good shape you will be fine...
