I never saw the car in person but I was exchanging e-mails with her last summer and fall. It took her forever to get it appraised and then when she said $60k I almost died. Heck, you can buy a Formula Junior Cooper, on which this car is based, for around 30,000. For the right price I thought it would make a nice addition to my Detomaso memorabilia display. Don't know if I would drive it with those drum brakes. Ed
I have to agree with you on this one guys. Back in '05 we bought chassis 0003 for $38k, a car in much better condition with known and documented history from new. For me the $60k just doesn't stack up, particularly when you consider there's at least the same to be spent on it if you want to go racing (where you'll always be at the back of the grid). Now i know prices for some classics have moved considerably over the last 18 months, but this is not one of them.
