Anyone familiar with sale to overseas buyer?

Wire transfer is the only way to go.

Make sure the buyer wires funds already converted to US$, so that you are not subject to fluctuating exchange rate on the day.

Depending on the bank he and you use there may be a third transferring bank involved, they will take fees and so may your bank. So even though the buyer sends the full amount it may end up anything up to $50 less in you account.

Basically he has to trust you and send funds prior to any release or shipping of the item. For large sums i.e. if your selling your Pantera there are Escrow services that can be used where you place title and the buyer places funds with a third party, much like during a home purchase.

Details? What are you selling to an overseas buyer? A car? Don't accept anything but a wire transfer. And don't accept any "escrow" service the buyer recommends. There are a number of fake escrow websites out there that are only shells to get you to ship your car, but then you never get your money. BE VERY CAUTIOUS!!!

My advise ... the buyer should come here to the USA and take posession of the car after he wires the money into your account at which time you sign the title over to him and drive it to the shipping terminal..at that time you take your plates and stickers off the car and wave good bye.

Any other way there will be a mistrust ...trust situation ...and anyone can get screwed.

I bought my Pantera on Ebay, didnt GO TO THE STATES (in that ocassion...I prefer turism..hahaha)

I sent the money throught a transfer, got the car picked up by a shipping co. The title went with the car, filled by the seller, and I completed the title when in my possesion.


OF COURSE not anybody is as nice as SPANISH (FROM SPAIN) people, and as perfect and nice as me...but dont always believe in bad experiences!!!!

Ok I have to agree ..as we spoke before I love Spain and Barcelona ...and yes the ladies there are very lovely ... especially in there Bikinis on the beach ... but if Iw as psending the amount of money normally ..one would spend on a Pantera ... I would spend 500.00 on a plane ticket and see the car before I wired a large sum of money.

The correct thing is to go an dsee the car...however, if the car is bought by a merchant, or not interesteed in adding cost, or its very well informed of what he is buying, people dont tend to travel to see the car.

Like always, is a choice of the person...

PS: Barcelona Grand Prix in a couple of weeks....
