Ball joint Articulation

I am in the process of building new housings for the front suspension ball joints, but need to determine if the articulation of the replacement ball joints are sufficient for the travel of the suspension. My car is out for paint so I have no means of measuring the angles. If anyone out there has their car up and the shocks/ springs removed could you measure the articulation of the ball stud relative to the upper and lower control arm, from jounce to rebound?
