A simple bracket can be made from a piece of flat bar stock. Almost any plunger type switch can be used. A lever type switch works too. The plunger (or lever) of the switch must contact the brake pedal arm, and the original switch wiring can be intercepted and extended to the new switch. It's actually quite easy to do.

OH! So this is not a replacement for the existing switch. Does anybody know of a direct replacement for the stock switch?

No, but Graham Pantera (www.panteracarparts.com) website lists them for $24.95. At that price why not just go OEM?
