I purchased a used set of Konis and a set of the Hall springs to install on my GTS. The Hall Springs I think are 400#F and 500#R. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to installing tighter springs on the front only, I'm not sure what the original spring rate was but from what I read they are somewhere around 225#F and 400#R and I was thinking of going to 400# front and rear. What does this do to the handling??

Thanks,
Steve

You will have a car that bounces like a pogo stick in the front end over bumps. Handling wise, you would be setting up more understeer into the chassis (making the front wheels work harder). The car would feel more like a front engine car, in other words.

The weight distribution of the Pantera is roughly 40% front, 60% rear, the springs should reflect this.

Ahh Doug, My head is still hirting from reading your great write-up, I don't say I undertood it all but it I learned somthing.Red Face) I wasn't aware of the liner vs progressive eather, thanks.
George, Thanks, that's what I thought but I wasn't sure if the rate was that big of a difference, was hoping that the understeer would have been reduced.
