I have a series III Deauville. It was always working fine, but now she is running hot. I have reworked the heads, putting steel valve seats in, and had had a good look at the engine. The factory hones were still visible and the engine looked in good shape.
But now there are cooling problems. When cruising a 70 Mph the fan's are constantly on. That way the themp. of the engine will be 100C ( checked that with infrared Thermometer ) The thermostat is opening exactly at 84C and the fan's will turn on at 95C and off at 90C.
So I have replaced the radiator by a new one ( copper radiator ), replaced the waterpump, thermostat, and cleaned the watersystem. Thereafter I checked the radiator for dirt, but it was clean.
In front of the radiator, is the AC cooling unit same size, and in front of that, there is a transmission cooler, normal small size.
Oil themp is normal around 100C.
There is more then enough flow through the radiators.
Anyone an idea what's going on?
grtz Arno
