Distributor clearance

I have a 8577 in my 71 and it fits under thecover and mine it not raised for the filter. It touches, just a little.

I recently just installed a 8350 "Ready to Run" dist. I have not put the engine screen on yet, however, I did a quick test fit, It looks like it's going fit , but it's going to be really tight. One thing I did was "thread" if you will, the spark plugs wires within the cap so the wires going to the plugs are cleanly run for optimum spacing between the rear window and the dist. Also, for good clearance of the air cleaner.
