Door panel fit - Top of door panel

My '74 had 3 factory trim screws and bezels along that top edge to hold the door panel tighter to the window. I actually added a 4th near the lock plunger. You might consider painting the top of the door at that area black to hide it too.

I hated to add screws where there weren't any..... I am an original build geek at times but more screws sounds like a good idea... And I think that it is a good idea to get the black paint out!! Thanks!

The top of the door card (panel) sits flush against the wisker edge (at least it does on my 71).  I also have 3 black interior finish head screws that secure the top of the door card into the frame.  If done correctly, you don't need to paint anything as the door card should cover the yellow underneath (mine is blue below).

Many pictures of door panels on BaT and internet but none I found with any picture of what the top edge looks lilke...

Oh, and is there a Dorman replacement part # or other manufacturer for the clips that hold the door panel to the door?? One of mine is broken..

My doors have a soft plastic u-shaped piece that slips over that part of the door where the metal clips are. Was there when I bought the Pantera (it's a 72). So, I've always assumed it's factory even though it's not a great fit.

The factory covered the yellow edge in black felt.  My 74 Euro Pantera still has it (or at least most of it)

My other Pantera had the same problem you are having.  Rather than glue felt over the paint as the factory did, I used black vinyl stuff from 3M.  It is good quality but has too much gloss.  The same material in flat black would be better.

Also, I have some of those clips for the door panel.  Send me PM and I will mail one to you.

Make sure your door card is pushed tight against the wisker trim surface.  The screws hold it tightly agains.  If I try, I can see some blue down in the window below the wisker in one spot but that is under a spot light.  Normal light it is just black.  There is no vinyl or trim on mine.

Great help from all.... I wish I would have thought about some thin vinyl but I ended up painting the top edge before I saw the idea on vinyl however it looks fine once I tightly screwed the door card into a position where it fits tightly.
