dual wires and dual ballast resistors?

Sounds like you have the same resistor setup as I have. Look toward the end of this thread for a picture of mine and a drawing. It may help.

I had to install a ballast resistor (in addition to the existing resistory) when I installed my electronic ignition in October 2003. I don't know if I have sufficient detail to help you, but you can check it out here:

Why do you run 2 ballast resistors? The Mallory instructions state that if you do not already have a ballast resistor or resistance wire to add a resistor..

?????

If the red wire powers the coil, coming from one side of the resistor. Does power come from or leave the blue wire to the tach.??

On my car, the red wire goes through the ballast resistor to the "+" side of the coil, the wire from the "-" side of the coil goes back through the other side of the ballast resistor, through the moldex connector and splits (blue wire supplys the tach and heavier black wire goes to the distributor). The pic in my link above may help.
