I found a finished car that I really like and as a result would consider selling my project. Mine is a very early 72. It is stripped and has what I think is a little more than typical rust (not as bad as some I've seen), and some lousy repair work. It's all there to see, no surprises. I would like to sell the body, interior, and suspension. I don't have the hood, but have the doors, rear deck, and glass, about everything else. Some of the front metal has been replaced and looks pretty good. The bad metal in mostly firewall back, typical rear quarter panel rust, etc.

Probably only good for someone with time and metal repair skills.

The car is in whittier, CA.

Garth,

To be honest, someone needs to see the body to know if they want to take it on. Pictures would probably just create a false impression one way or the other. And since it is stripped, you can actually see all the issues. It looked great before I had it stripped. Not so great afterwards. Frowner

Also, it includes a rear deck, doors, glass, suspension, interior, gauges, wire harness, and a bunch of little stuff. The amount I'd like to get is probably not as much as all the parts are worth without counting the body. It also cost $2K to strip. I'm looking for less than $10K, but not a lot less, LOL

This isn't like a lot of bodies with no parts that show up for sale. Most of the little parts that add up to thousands are included.

$6K

I completed a deal on a much more complete project and will sell the old body + a lot of parts for $6K The front metal is pretty good, the metal behind the fire wall and the left rear quarter panel need work. The metal behind and gas tank needs work. The floor looks good. The body was stripped (cost $2K) so it's all there to see. I will only sell to someone who looks at the car or has someone look at the car.

I have most the parts other than the ZF and engine. I think the parts are probably worth nearly as much as I'm asking, but I prefer to sell it all together.

The rear left quarter panel is the worst looking part of the body but all the structure behind the firewall should be carefully inspected and repaired as necessary. The front and center sections of the car have pretty good metal. I sprayed a rust inhibitor on right after it was stripped which is the odd color. This car had a nice yellow paint job when I bought it, and this was under the paint.

While the effort needed to repair the metal is significant, it is the only way to know that the car is solid unless a "to the metal" restoration was completed and documented.
