Ed Hugus recently passed away, one day before his 83rd birthday. Ed was on the overall winning team at LeMans in 1965 driving a Ferrari 275LM and was a class winner in a Porsche Spyder in 1957. Mr. Hugus was a guest speaker at the PI Banquet during the festa DeTomaso in 1997 when he was reunited with his F-2 DeTomaso at the Concorso Italiano. Mr. Hugus was a DeTomaso dealer for the U.S. of DeTomaso race cars. He had many amazing stories to tell about his racing experiences with DeTomaso race cars and his relationship with Mr. and Mrs. DeTomaso.
He was a wonderful gentleman and we always enjoyed seeing him each year in Monterey. He resided with his wife Barbara in Pebble Beach. Besides DeTomaso race cars, Ed was also the first dealer and East Coast distributor of Shelby Cobras. He was a wonderful human being and we will miss him greatly. Dave and Linda
