Engine paint?

VHT Engine paint. Ford Corp Blue will do you.

Be careful if you want to match other blue items on your car there are 3 or 4 different shades of blue. I've experienced this on two cars.

The proper shade of Ford blue is very dark.

The popular shade is a bit lighter, and admittedly prettier, but not accurate (see the picture below).

There is an even lighter shade of blue which is actually a Mercury color.

I've found VHT engine paint to be one of the closest matches. I'll check the number on the color when I get home tonight.

I have bought every brand made and sprayed out test panels. PlastiKote 224 matches the original engine paint near perfect.

I think this is the lighter blue you are talking about.Dupli-color offers all the Ford colors.

I want to offer another important point on this engine paint, heat, if you are running 180's you need a heat resistant paint, the Dupli-color selection of engine paint is fantastic! and does not bubble or discolor with high heat. The medium silver on my transmission is engine paint and even with a additional coat of engine clear the combo was unaffected by high heat.

I must say that the darker colour which seems to look like a navy blue, seems to be far more preferable to the light blues that are usually seen, what is the colour exactly of the "Proper"
darker blue paint shown in the pics.

This is factory paint that PlastiKote 224 matches almost perfect.
