I would like to know if there is fuse panel that would replace the old VW fuses with the newer modern plug ins. And who makes it.

No one currently sells what you're looking for, but you could run "GBC" fuses by Busse. These are pointy-end glass fuses that fix the Euro-fuse corrosion problems simply and easily. Cheap discount auto parts stores often don't carry Busse GBC fuses. Try a smaller inport car store. POrsche, BMW and other cars besides VW use the euro-fuses, and a lot of such owners use Busse GBCs. .
