So I take my car to the local mall cruise night tonight for the first time. Its every Wednesday night on the Mapleview Mall lot in Burlington. Figured it would be a bit out of place with the vettes and camaro's. Turned out to be a regional qualifier for the Cruise Nationals at the CNE in August. Well dosen't 'ol FYRBRTHN win a finalist position as voted by the fans there. So August 23 it will be at the CNE and the top cars there go to the AutoShow in Feb. Thankfully not a concours type event, strictly a fan favorite choice so no pickyness about originality or such. Amazing number of people came over because they "hadn't seen one in years" or "never seen one" (teen crowd). Figured it would just be a sit and chat type night, now I am sponsored by the local Lion's club. Whoo Hooo!!!

I took Miss P and my ten year old daughter over to the local first and third Wednesday of the month cruise in at a small shopping plaza near us last night.

Same deal, the P car always draws an admiring crowd, young ("Look Dad! A race car!") and old ("I haven't seen one of these in years!").

Molly just loves the attention, as we rumbled out of the lot she says "Look Dad, everybody's checking us out!" I kind of like it too.

No ticket to the nationals though. Maybe next time.
The car beside is a '60's Ferrari Daytona replica. Very nicely done. Funny thing when we got parked beside each other we both figured we were "done". Ended up being 2 of the most visited cars. The event was based on being "vintage" or repli-vintage. Check out the blue 1962 Land Rover in the top right of the earlier picture. There was everything there including some really top notch muscle restorations.
