I just removed mine, installed an aircraft style filler

Martin, would you be able to post a photo showing the pipe that connects from that filler to the top of the gas tank? I'd like to see the shape of that pipe. Thanks!

Item #6 has the same part number as the '71 gas cap base.

The angle is 60*. Hose size is 2-1/4".

Mark, car is back together so here is a photo of the hose without the engine side cover on. One can barely make out the small bend.

My car is a 71 and it has an aero-style side filler like Martin's but the connection at the tank (part 36) is at 90° (turns horizontal) with a short hose connecting the two. Naturally, gas barely flows into the tank this way and it seemed there was no way to use a bent pipe like the original 71 filler (it curves gently and ends up too high off the tank). I see now that I need to get one of the later-style units and then maybe it will work.

bdud, mine, currently being installed, uses a different system to hold the gill lid closed, I can take a picture tomorrow if you want?

If you have a curved filler pipe, then that is an aftermarket part. The attached pic is of an original '71 fill. The fuel cap was only about 1" above the top of the fuel tank.

After Martin very kindly sent me his one, Becky at Pantera Performance in Castle Rock let me know she had got hold of one. Not sure if it is new or used.
