Removing the bezel is not easy. The bezel is chrome-plated brass and is crimped around the gauge body. To remove it, you insert a small straight-blade screwdriver under the crimp from the back and gently lift it. Progress around the gauge about 60% of the circumference until you can slip the body out from the remaining crimp. There is a thin rubber gasket that will be compressed, but that won't interfere too much. After doing whatever you must do, reinsert the body under the existing crimp and with a large flat-blade screwdriver, gently progressively re-crimp the edge. All this bending will be on the back side of the gauge and if done carefully, will not be visible. Note- this un-bending of the crimped edge & re-crimping can only be done once without cracking the thin brass, so don't do it unless absolutely necessary. I had a tach component fail and recently did this to access the printed circuit board inside. Good luck-J DeRyke
