When I was removing the ZF and Clutch the other day. I heard something hit the ground but could fine at at the time. Found it today. Anyone have an idea where it came from ? part of the pressure plate ? Thanks. Coz
I thought everyone knew that. Its the whatchamagidget. It mounts right next to the thingamabopper. On a serious note,no I have no clue where that might have come from.
If that part you found is a 17MM hex, it was probably stuck in the drainplug on the ZF and fell out when you joggled the tranny.
Pantera folks have tried all sorts of things to make a drain plug wrench when you could just buy a 17mm Allen to fit a ratchet or get a 17MM Allen wrench. That's my guess. SOBill
Someone cut a piece off a 17 mm allen wrench and used it for the drain and side fill plugs. Probably dropped it and lodged someplace until you lifted the zf and dislodged it.
Need some more info: have you drained the ZF case (it could not have come out the case due to the size), if it came out of the bellhousing then my guess is that someone dropped it in the sight hole of the bellhousing.
I think the original owner fabricated something to aid in taking the the drain plugs out, it got stuck and finally came out when I jerked the ZF around taking it out. I have looked everything else over and over, find nothing that it goes to. And it fit perfectly in a drain plug. Thanks everybody for your help on this !
