HEADLIGHT GEAR - TIPS FOR R&R?? | The De Tomaso Forums

I'm headed off to another Fresno Pantera owner's home tomorrow morning to replace his plastic headlight gear.

I think the best method is removal of left front tire, splash panel and pull motor out through the fenderwell?

Any tips for doing this without serious mental frustration?

You may want him to do a quick inspection of the limit switch in case it is in need of replacement (visible cracks or corrosion). Can't help with the mental frustration, it's inevitable.

No. Jack the car up. The motor comes out from underneath.

Bring some extra sedatives. You are going to need them.

I did mine through the fender well and it was some time ago so cannot comment if it would have come out underneath, but I think it would be tight.
