I removed air filter and discovered there was no filter for the valve cover breather.   Shop installed a elbow and a "L" hose to filler cap.

a napa pcv filter won't work with the "L" hose.   and when installed in cleaner not a very secure hose connection.  any one have the napa # for factory and what ever i need to keep the almost original look.

You can live a long and happy life without the filter. It is just extra over kill from the factory and really just serves to keep oil off of the paper element.

In fact one way of reducing air flow restriction to the engine is to go to a K&N element. That is not a paper filter and uses oil to help it catch air bound particles of debris. So actually the combination of the two would be a compatible one.

that hose connects to the air filter housing outside of the filter, thus sucking dusty air.

switching ends and putting the rubber hose on the filter little tube, with the spring clips grasping, is not a good connection, falls off very easy

I found the ford # 384411-s for the elbow and they are made of unatainium

I'm going to search a day longer and try making something before paying big bucks

I still can't find a 'new' one, like from napa or dorman.   so far only found the NOS on ebay for $80.

I took a double barbed elbow, cut the barb off, and reamed the ID to accept the extension on the pvc filter.   snug tight fit and the "flange" on the elbow is just captured by the clip.    actually good enough to be the permant fix
