This is regarding the Pantera project that I received in February. The car came without the factory mount for the swirl tank. They removed the factory tank mount and I think they were planning on "deleting" the swirl tank and instead use the aftermarket filler neck that sort of levitates. The factory mount for the overflow tank is alive and well. In any case, I would like to go back to the factory setup or similar if possible. Ideas anyone?

You really do not need one. The connections to the piping with the short hoses are more the sufficient to hold the tanks in place.
We can send you one. Brand new. Text 305-322-9108 me for a pic.

How would it attach? Would it have to be welded on or is it feasible to bolt it in place? Thanks!
Very nice looking engine bay!
Either way, your choice.
Put some riv-nuts in and bolt it in. I have welded in captive nuts before painting.
My only concern with riv-nuts in this application is they have a ridge and might not allow the tank mount to sit flush on the engine bay surface. Once I get a mount I will study it. Thanks.
Thanks David. That one is an option. I think my first preference is factory. There are fewer modifications to the car that way.
Steve, there are countersunk riv-nuts.
I see them now. They just need a tapered added to the drilled hole. Thanks.
i’ll take those billet aluminum mounts for the tanks! Hall does not list them, does anyone know who sells or makes them now ?
Thanks Ken. That's an option. I am going by Wilkinson's this morning and will see what he has. I will check if he has the aluminum unit that Bell wants as well.

Today at Wilkinson's shop he pulled these out. He has two sets of them. He said they are $850 per set. He also said he does not want to sell just the bracket, only the entire set.

I've got one on an old inner panel I was going to use to repair the damaged one I have. I might be able to cut it out. It would need to be welded in or maybe there is another option.

Hi Ken,
Wilkinson did not have this bracket. It would be great if I can get yours. It looks like you can get it out either of two ways.
1. Cut that piece of the inner fender out and leave the bracket welded to the cutout piece of fender.
2. Just cut the two corner welds and bracket will come right off.
Thanks, Steve

Draw up the bracket to fit your tanks and get it water jetted out of 1/2” aluminum…
or just form it out of flat steel bar..
I'll take a look tomorrow. It is missing the nut and bolt, but those are easier to get ahold f. I'll let you know.

Thanks Doug. I mounted it as such and it is working well. It seems sturdy enough. This is one of Wilkinson's new aluminum tanks.

As a possible option, a few of the prototype Panteras had one tank on each side of the engine bay, attached differently on the left due to the fuel tank shield. There are no detailed photos from 55 years ago, though. The good part of this is, no one can criticize your doing it your own way. As you can see from the factory production weld quality, some of the car's small detail is pretty crude.
