Hi folks, I just put a 4mm hole in the bottom quarter of my gas tank trying to remove a rivet. It‘s in rear of the tank towards the wheel well and fairly accessible once the wheel has been removed. I believe the tank can only be removed once the engine has been removed. Any ideas how to repair the tank without removing the engine? Thanks

Thanks Larry for the quick response. The one and a half star product rating will need some looking into but it could be a viable alternative to removing the engine.
Something I failed to include previously. For a small hole such as you have, using a good sealant while inserting a properly sized sheet metal screw into the hole will provide a mechanical reinforcement to the sealant.
A screw just by itself will often suffice to basically seal the leak until a better option is on hand.

Doctor, you could use a sealed rivet of 4mm. That's what some previous owner used on the gas tank of my cat. Was still free of leaks.

Now it’s sort of like the Elvis Pantera.... with random holes in it!
Thanks for your input. Will report.
