My throwout hub will not slide over the guide tube?.. Is there two different sized hubs? My gearbox was rebuilt and it seems the guide tube is a different size now??..
There were two input shafts used on Panteras, and thus two different clutch discs.
Dash 1, not used on many cars, was different than Dash 2.
I'm pretty sure they had different diameters, and that would probably mean different diameters on the guide tube.
But if you are having trouble mating parts that previously mated (prior to ZF rebuild) then obviously your rebuilder should be expecting a call from you.
Yeah, I left a msg... I hope he calls back??.. I have the mcLeod clutch set up for it. Everything was going good until I went to slide the bearing hub on there. It's just my luck, nothin new... Thanks for your help ...
Not two 'guide tube' or transaxle nose-piece sizes, but there are two slightly different throwout bearing internal bore sizes. I assume you did replace the throwout bearing with a fresh one (which IMHO is a really good idea)? Possibly, someone gave you a wrong bearing.
The bearing is brand new and I pressed it onto the old hub. As soon as I went to slide the assembly onto the guid tube it was obvious they were not the same size. The guide tube I have is 35mm ( +/- chink caliper )and I need a 33mm or 34mm. The "new" guide tube ia one or two mm larger. There are new parts on the way to correct the problem ( I hope ). Thank you for your help, I need all I can get ...
