That's a great manifold. It will crispen the response off of idle. It is debateable if it needs a balance tube? You can always try an open spacer beneath the carb to experiment with?

I think likely running it as is will make the idle more lumpy. The spacer or a notch basically acting as a balance tube on the exhaust, smoothing the idle a little bit.

I don't see that as a big issue either way.

Mind Train is the only pre 180° header design that attempted to balance the exhaust.
