Driver lost control of his truck, smashing through the guardrail on the photo - right. Airborn over the culvert, spinning 180 degrees and landing facing the direction he came from.

Put the last three photos together - match the left side rocks....

That does look like some of the hills near Fresno. And Larry does(did?) have a pick-up truck. And that is his driving style, ie, "airborn", "180".

If that culvert ever flowed the amount of water it was sized for, it sure didn't leave any evidence on the canyon wall...
