Hey Robert

Hot Lash was specified as 0.025/0.025

Therefore cold lash:
Iron block & iron heads is 0.023/0.023 (subtract 0.002)
Iron block & alloy heads is 0.031/0.031 (add 0.006)
Alloy block & alloy heads is 0.037/0.037 (add 0.012)

(Note to all, the cold lash correction numbers I mention in parenthesis are generic for all American V8s)

Robert, I just have to mention that you can do much better than that old cam with a custom ground cam using modern lobes. Those old cams used lobes with excessive duration in order to achieve appropriate valve lift. Modern lobes can achieve better lift with shorter ramps (more duration at 0.050) and more aggressive flank rates (shorter advertised duration). Modern lobes provide great benefits for every application, when the appropriate parameters are applied to the cam's design . For instance, that cam is supposed to be a street/strip cam yet the overlap is 81 degrees! That's 20 degrees too much overlap for any "street engine".

Food for thought ...
