Have Mangusta chassis # 8MA1140 and am attempting a restoration, rebuild. Car has been in a fire but running gear and suspension have been rebuilt. Body is in sad condition. Any information on history or ownership of the car would be appreciated. Also any hints or direction to go in body restoration. Again any information or leads is appreciated.

Congratulations on your efforts to restore the rare Mangusta.

1140 is listed in the DeTomaso Registry as a European '71, with a build date of 2/71, with an original color of Red and once owned by Dick Boberg of California. Also, push button doors, and unique clearance lights.
