I tried running without a booster but the pedal effort was just too high. I tried different M/C sizes too but that didn't help. The problem is, the OEM brake pedal is too short, so you don't get enough leverage. SACC makes a Wilwood pedal setup, that uses longer pedals for more leverage. I understand that setup is OK, without a booster, as far as pedal effort is concerned.

I just installed this with Porterfield pads in the OEM front calipers. At the rear I have Brembo 4 pistons calipers and I have Ferrodo DS 1.11 pads. Even with the original pedal the effort is acceptable, you obviously have to press harder than with the brake servo, but it is very correct.
The master cylinders have a diameter of 5/8'' and 11/16''

I once test drove a Pantera with Weber carbs that were not working well and the brake booster was not getting enough vacuum from the plumbing for the individual intake runners.  The brakes themselves were working fine but without power assist it was not a good experience.  Based on this test drive, manual brakes on a Pantera are not for me.  It might be better with Rene's setup.  There are now good electric vacuum pumps that will operate the brake booster.

Sketchy - I think that describes it the best!

I want to be able to modulate the brake pressure with ease especially if I want to go fast! Heel/toe driving will be impossible!
it will be like performing surgery and using an ax instead of a scalpel!
it may work in 1/4 mile straight line drag racing but that’s it!

twice as bad in a car with weight bias to the rear….

but that’s just me…

I have but not in a Pantera. I presume that is what you are asking about?
