Rick's is tried and proven - yours wouldn't be. That isn't to say this is major rocket science and if you have a handle on these types of things, then go for it. Rick uses top notch parts, has them well laid out and instructions make it a snap. If you don't mind tracking your parts down, fabricating your brackets and figuring out your wiring then yup, you could do it yourself.

Just a personal choice thing. Some folks like vanilla ice cream, others prefer chocolate. It's all good.

Two different ways of addressing the same problem, and either one will be fine. Actually, if I remember correctly, both the "Volts of Confidence" solution and the "Rick Moseley" solution came from the same person. Mike wrote the "Volts of Confidence" article based on a solution proposed by Marcus Smith (? it's Marcus someone) and Rick took it a step further and actually built a bolt-in kit.

I've got Rick's kit in my car - it was easy to do and he used top quality materials. If you want a plug-and-play, then get his kit. If you enjoy tinkering a little more then follow the instructions on Pantera Place and "roll your own". They both ought to do the same thing - unload the headlight switch and ignition switch.
