Congratulations and welcome. Do you have the VIN? Are you looking for the "do's and don'ts" of after purchase? Sounds like you've already been through the purchase process. As for the do's and don'ts it really depends on what you intend to do with the car. Keep it all original? Add some upgrades? Show car?
welcome
I believe I recognize your Pantera, was it previously owned by Tony Blevins?
For a service shop I'd suggest Pantera Miami, one of our sponsors, you'll find their banner ad everywhere you look.
I am purchasing from 3rd party dealer.
When i said do's and don'ts i meant ownership.
Also,do you know anything about this pantera?
Thanks
If you provide the last 4 digits of the VIN we can look it up in the directory.
Well, well. Close to mine, 1797.
The registry has pictures back to 2002. Similar paint scheme except hood and rear deck lid were back. Had a delta wing installed. Out of Oregon. This is the write up in the first attachment.
Also has pictures from 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2019 with Illinois tags. Probably with the existing paint. The 2nd attachment is from 2006.
Thanks again,
is it possible tfor me o see the registry....and yes we are VIN # brothers
Beautiful car, congratulations!
To gain access to the site, www.provamo.com, you have to "donate" a VIN. The administrator does this to encourage people to add to the registry. Note: this can be the VIN of ANY DeTomaso, not necessarily yours, People have even used old For Sale ads from Car & Driver.
You might also visit the DeTomaso list. Its another useful forum.
Thanks,
Waiting for Reliable to deliver the Pantera
I really appreciate the info and well wishes.

I love your collection of cars.
Is there still one other you would like to add?

Right. It has been. But you don't have to register with your VIN. Any VIN, of any DeTomaso will do.

The following maintenance should also be the first order of business for any new Pantera owner...

The following maintenance should also be the first order of business for any new Pantera owner...
- Add an emergency front hood release cable.
- Make sure your engine oil dipstick is the correct length. Early cars showed "Full" but were actually a quart low.
- Add Zerk grease fittings to your ball joints.
- Replace stock ceramic/aluminum-strip fuses with GBC glass fuses and clean all fuse holders.
- Make sure throttle linkage has two return springs.
- Make sure water temp sender is moved from surge tank to engine block.
- Change ZF gear oil.
- Change brake fluid.
- Change clutch fluid.
- Make sure distributor gear shear pin is upgraded to stock pin with a second smaller pin inside for added strength.
- Drill drain holes in rust prone areas, if not already done on your car.
- Remove stock spring spacers if they are still there after thirty years.
- Make sure cooling system has all air bubbles removed.
- Re-route overflow tank vent hose to exit behind rear wheel.
- Add two heater hose shut-off valves to assist the A/C in actually cooling the cabin.
- Buy a fire extinguisher
That's quite a list
Thanks

I just got a scan of the Title.
Previous Owners were a couple and not the name you suggested.
Regards
My 2 cents on fire extinguishers.
Do not go cheap! As a Fireman, I have seen many a nice car ruined by the use of dry chemical extinguishers. It looks like you threw a 5 pound bag of corn meal over everything, major mess that is next to impossible to totally remove.
I recommend a Halotron extinguisher. It is a gas that totally dissipates and leaves no residue.
One other thing, don’t drive with the deck lid locked. If you have to get in there in a hurry to put out a fire or whatever, you’ll be glad it was unlocked!

I saw a scan of the title today.
A couple were the POs and their last name was different

I finally got access to the Registry to see pictures and video of my soon to be delivered Pantera.
I"m very happy that aftermarket wing is gone and I salute the Updates installed since it;s Oregon ownership.
Thanks for the preview.
