Can someone please confirm the FIM radiator petcock turns COUNTERclockwise to drain fluid. I want to make sure before accidentally ripping the thing off. thanks

If it is that tight, why don’t you just grab the proper sized hex wrench and remove the entire unit, and then do a bench restoration on the old one or replace with a fresh one?

It's not tight. I just don't remember which way it turns to open. I believe it is counterclockwise, but wanted to make sure. The rad is in the car.

Yes, counter clockwise will open the petcock.

hex is 17 mm
