I am trying to find any and all information on Carroll Shelby and the Pantera GT5S.  I am hearing that he (Shelby of America) imported three Pantera's.  #9425 (red w tan interior)  #9426 (black w black interior) and #9428 (red w black interior).  All three of these cars were sold to a Dr. by Carroll himself with two more to follow.  I don't thing the last two ever happened.  I am wondering where these cars are.  Mine is #9426 and in my garage, wondering if the others are around or if anyone knows of them.  I do think #9425 is on the east coast and went through Mecum a year or so ago and did not sell.  The third car I have never heard a word about.  Carroll actually owned a white GT5S that he used to design the Dodge Viper of all things but this car was not imported by him but it was owned by him.  Anyway, just looking for information.  More curious than anything.  Thanks in advance................

In previous discusions here, Kirk chimed in.

I believe he said that those cars went through him at Amerisport to get "Federalised" in the US and that he thought there were about 12 of them?

Three is the number that was reported in the press while Shelby was with Chrysler.

Ioccoca was the CEO and like Ford wanted, he wanted an Italian exotic in this case for Chrysler. They were looking at the Pantera but went a different route and purchase Lamborghini.

If you ever see the VIN tag on a 91 Diablo it says Chrysler Motor Company on it.

Hello, I am new here but after stumbling upon this topic on a random search I am amazed by this story with Shelby and the Dr. buying these cars. My father was a good friend of Dr. Drab and I remember his red Pantera. We had talked about the Pantera before, but he never mentioned anything to me at least about the Shelby business, let alone there being 2 other cars. I am going to try to get more information, but as far back as I can remember (mid 1990s) he only held onto one of the red Panteras. I don’t have much more info than that, but I figured I could at least share 2 rather bad pictures I took of the car in about 1997. I don’t believe he kept the car past the mid 2000’s.
