That's Bob Benson from Northern California. IIRC, he finished 27th out of 56 in the three different events. That chevy truck also spun out.

Excellent write-up on Big Bob and his 'little' Pantera standing next to him at less-than-belt-buckle height, in the April Popular Hot Rod magazine. As well as many of his competitors. I've autocrossed against the eventual winners of this event- the Hobaughs both jr & senior in their well-setup '65 Corvette. I found like Bob that it's really hard to beat a car running 315-sized front tires when your 'theoretically superior mid-engined' Pantera only accepts 245s...
