The last few that changed hands were never advertised, therefore terms were never released. Both the supply and demand are so small that it sometimes works that way.

So few change hands that I suspect it may be difficult to establish what "market" value is. It probably depends more on if the two parties can agree on a price they can swallow. I don't know of any for sale at the moment.
Daniel,

DeTomaso only made 41 of them, and 2 were crash tested. That leaves a grand total of 39 Si's. A few of these are in Oz, at least one is in Japan, and I'm not sure if any are in England. 4 of them are targas, and 2 of the targas are 6 speeds. I would imagine that an Si would sell for at least 150k.

You can't import them into the U.S. at this time to register and drive on public roads. You can only bring one over if you can prove it's of some kind of historical significance (say if a very famous celebrity, or royalty owned it), or if you are going to put it in a museum or use it for show only. Even still, it might only be allowed in with the engine removed, and reinstalled here (not sure if that's still the case). In any event, you can't drive it on public roads.

This all may change eventually when the Si gets to be a certain age (20-25 yrs old?). It might become exempt from some (or all) of these laws. I once heard that it would cost as much to import the Si as it would to buy it. So whatever you paid for the car, you'd be paying again in fees, tariffs, import duties, certification costs, etc.

I may be wrong on some of this, but I'm definitely close to the mark. If anyone has any more accurate knowledge of this, please feel free to chime in.

Michael
Daniel,

As Michael says practically impossible to get into the US (as you would likely be aware of from bringing in your GT5). Being in Spokane, you may be able to get one imported into Canada (15 yr rule) that is if you were prepared to head across border to drive it and then I guess you could come into the US 'visiting' with it maybe? I'm not sure about registration requirements/restrictions for Non Canadians etc.

Jotec Motorsport in Germany still has the '92 Pantera 90Si advertised for sale at EU98.5K (~US$150K) Jotec 90Si

If you were dead set on a Si Pat Mical has successfully completed at least one all steel conversion and advertises that he sells the panels on his website http://www.patsauto.com There are plenty of donor candidates floating around at present, so maybe a 'project' is in the wind Big Grin
Thanks guys,
I will keep looking, I do love the car, your correct on the 25yr rule for the USA and 15 yr rule for Canada. That said I do have a connection that live in Canada and the car could be creatively delivered and driven across the border...WA state rules are so layed back that it could be done pretty easy, I learned alot about loop holes in this state after bringing in the GT5.
Thanks again

Roland Jakel in Germany has one that was in a fire and needs a complete ground up re-build. You may contact him because I am betting it will be a lot easier getting a burned out hulk into the states than it would be a running car. That way sweet equity replaces large sums of cash to get you your dream car.

The last Si that sold was a white Australian car that had been factory converted to RHD by its owner around 1996. It came up for sale last year, being one of only two RHD cars I was very interested in it but it sold before I could arrange for someone to view the car(I am in Ireland and the car was in Aus.)It sold for about 100k Euro, a strong price but then again, Aus is RHD also, and this was a rare chance to buy a RHD Si. The only other RHD car is the red twin turbo Pantera 200, owned by Dick Puxty of Emilia UK. This car was laid up for almost a decade, and it is no longer in Dicks possesion. He will not say who now owns the car.
Previous to this a red Swedish Si sold for 75k Euro last summer, again I was prepared to buy this car, but it sold the same day I was booking flights to go and view it. I think the Jotec Si mentioned earlier is a little overpriced, it has been unused for many years and would need to be recommisioned.
As to taking one to the US, Pat Mical in Mass. who has built the Si replica told me that it cannot be done, and once the car lands on US soil it is liable to be seized and crushed.
They are rare and beautiful cars, and I do aspire to own one, but I would be looking at some way of upping the performance, they are quite a bit slower than the original.

If that white one sold for 100K €, then that would be a pretty decent price all things considered. I followed the conversion process at the factory and took a lot of pictures of the process - and I saw the final bill. You could buy a decent "normal" Pantera for what he paid to convert the car to RHD. But it was an interesting process - each piece being hand-made for the purpose.
