Pantera Fit-Large guy +small interior=?

Jerry at PI motorsports is a big guy, he must be 6-2, he fits.....

At 6' 1" you won't have any problems that cannot be fairly easily solved. I'm the same height and 200 lbs and I fit a stock seated Pantera okay (as long as the pot holes aren't too big). Find one with dropped floor pans or plan on doing that as a mod and you can gain up to another 3 inches. Then you can even wear a helmet for track days

A lot will depend on the individual car; as you know Pantera's are as individual as the people that drive them and many have aftermarket seats of varying style and quality, but even then it's pretty easy to overcome or change them. I put Corvette seats in my '74 and to gain room simply threw away the sliders and bolted the driver seat to the floor. Heck the wife didn't want to drive the thing anyway

Matt Merrit and Mark McWhinney are big guys, they make me look like a pip-squeek, both are Pantera guys.

I'm only 6 feet, 185 lbs, but I'm in a power wheelchair and I can work my way in and out so you should have no problem. Don't ever give up on your dream.

I am 188 cm (6'2") and 100 kg. I have no problems driving my 1974 with stock seats and floor.

Getting out and in the car is a tight fit, but the car fit me "like a gove" when seated.

I am 6'4" and I weigh 250 pounds now, but at one time I weighed as much as 300 pounds. Yeah I was fat. But I was still able to drive my Pantera. My knees do hit the dash but I can stand it for a few hours at a time. There is a website here somewhere that tells what tall guys can do to make their cars more comfy. Some suggestions are easy, some are radical. There is one guy 6'7" that has one. I think it is his website.

There are two things you can do. The floor pans can be dropped but even more effective then that is to space out the foot pedals for more leg room.

The floor pans lowered will give you more head room. The foot pedals more leg room.

A smaller steering wheel also helps alot for knee clearance.

LOL I ended up taking out the seat tracks and bolting the seats down directly to the floor; then 'Hunker Down' just a little more. I am Not uncomfortable when I drive for hours. When You want one of these Beautiful Machines, comfort does Not matter; You'll 'Make Yourself fit'!! Good-Luck with it!...

...That's in a '74 L Model, Pedals and floorpans are unchanged...

When's the lastime you checked your floor pans? I'll be there is an indentation where you sit to give you the extra room.



I thought we were talking about comfortable fit?

Im 6'6" 235 lbs, Our 71 has the dropped floorpans. Its a snug fit but I can drive her for hours.

6' - 260 lbs.

Had both early and late model cars. Late model cars have lowered floor pans. You can do the same to an early car but should bolt seats directly to floor too.

I have size 13 shoes and I keep racing shoes in the garage and change into them to drive. Pointy sneakers (Pumas are good) are a great fit.

Other than that, there is a lot of interior width in a Pantera. Do the above and its a very comfortable car you can take on long trips.
