Price on PB /Pre L

Are you comparing a 1971 pushbutton to a 1972 Pre L or are you comparing a 1971 pushbutton to a 1971?

Not sure there is a price difference, however trying to find some of the hand built parts to repair a damaged push button like the trim, glass, and some body panels is next to impossible to find. If its damaged it would certainly be more costly to repair. In the case of a car being totaled there simple is less of them around so it would be far harder to find a replacement.

You will want “Agreed Value” insurance on your car and you will find that they will insure it for whatever amount you want up to around $50,000. That assumes that the pictures you send them indicate that the car is in show condition. As you approach the $50k mark or above you will most likely need to get an appraisal to prove the value of the car.

My agreed value policy is based on a professional appraisal which put my car at $57K. If I had to replace it with another 16K mile perfect-running car, it might just be enough. You might want to consider an appraisal, as $45K sounds low to me for a PB.

4295 has an agreed value policy with Haggarty for $100,000,, Cost is $716 a year, no appraisal


Make sure you buy enough insurance. Forget what you paid, look around, what do Panteras (drivers/show) cars go for now. 50k = daily driver now

Are there use restrictions on your policy? I'm shopping insurance for my car since AAA doesn't seem interested in increasing my coverage. They actually told me I should look elswhere. But, I'm not willing to only use my car for club events. I want to be able to drive it to work and where ever and whenever I want. Maybe I should take ALL my insurance policies (3 other cars and homeowners) elsewhere.

My policy has very low rates for cars over 30 years old as well as annual mileage and location limitations (no regular use trips to the office or shopping malls).

Use Haggerty and estimate value by adding up what you have in the car and then go from there. All they ask for is a picture of the car. It's agreed value. I had no problems with value over $50k.

In the my pursuit to find the perfect Pantera for me, I checked with AAA, my current insurance company to make sure that for an "exotic" I wouldn't be paying $4-5,000 a year for insurance. For a '71 - '74 Pantera with an actual cash value of $100,000, kept in a garage, driven less than 7,000 miles a year, with full coverage......$308 a year.

That to me seemed like a bargain. I asked if that was correct, they told me that when they see the actual car the price may change up or down about $30.

When I tried AAA (my regular company), they would only insure the car for the purchase (receipt) price??? Not the replacement and/or agreed amount. ????????????..............check it out ??????

Just make sure the policy says (Agreed Value)
