When interviewed, he said he wanted it from the moment he saw it at SEMA. And that the only thing he didn't like was the fact it has two different colored seats (?)

Said he could not make it himself for that price so probably will do some burnouts and flip it to the next owner.

They also bid on the black F40 they built and sold to Reggie Jackson for nearly $1M only to see Reggie reluctantly resell it to some guy for under $600K.

You wonder really who is making money and loosing money at Barrett Jackson. For sure Craig Jackson must sleep well at night :-)

I saw it up close and personal at Laguna Seca last August.

I feel a car is a sum of its parts. When everything is harmonious and in sync with itself, THAT is when a car speaks to me.

The Ring Brothers "Pantera" is a mis-mash of design elements, that IMHO do not play well with each other. While the car is certainly (in some aspects but not all) well executed, it no longer retains any of what makes a Pantera a Pantera.

Personally, I hope he DOES "let it sit somewhere".

Where it can soon be forgotten.

There were multiple bidders up to $270K. At that point, Richard Rawlings decided to scare off the other bidders by jumping the high bid by $30K; to $300K. It worked because the other bidders dropped out.

What was even more interesting was 2015 Shelby Mustang GT350-R, serial #1, sold for one million dollars! The car was donated by Ford and all proceeds went to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

I saw that million dollar Shelby Mustang GT350. Amazing.
Don't forget that dependent upon the buyer's tax positioning, a certain percentage of the cost of the purchase price can/will be a charitable tax deduction.

For those in high taxable income situations a very lucrative way to purchase a car...Mark
