I think one of my rotors may be warped. The last time I drove the car I smelled that wonderful hot asbestos smell. Well, when I got home (not far from where I smelled it) I could tell it was coming from the right front wheel. I think the rotor may be warped. Pulling the wheel and spinning the rotor shows it is tight in one area but the rest turns freely. Is there a way to check this? I don't have a dial gauge or anything.
From looking while turning it seems to be slightly warped. Can a rotor be turned off the car? Should I have them all checked before having one done? Thanks for any help.
I want a safe car so have not driven it since. But it keeps calling to me. ))

No, there is no shaking in the steering wheel but the pads sure was getting hot from the smell. I believe it has vented rotors now. I believe it is a vented rotor that is on the car now. I just want to make it work correctly. I don't like it when I can smell the asbestos from brakes. Thanks.
