Rusty GTS Advice

I have just acquired a 1974 GTS that had been run into a tree then left in a damp leaky garage for ten years. It fired and drove but upon getting it to my garage I found extensive areas of rust. My question is it possible to repair a monocoque car with rust problems and how do I start?
