I have a pair of good used Scheel seats for sale. Black cord seating surfaces, black vinyl sides and back, all in great shape. Moderate side bolsters. Seats recline and fit in Pantera perfectly, unless you are too tall - I'm 6'2" and they are too thick for me when installed in my '72 with stock floor pans. They are very comfortable and well made. They are currently set up for a bolt-in installation, but could probably be used with stock rails. $475 plus shipping from Long Beach. CA buys the pair.

Larss- I'm 6'-2" and have the same problem. Swapped out my original seats for a set of Gary Herrig's Corvette C4s. I removed the springs and bolted them directly to the floor. I have about 1/2" of head clearance but a helmet is out of the question. I have a set of dropped pans (not installed yet) and am STILL debating about dropping the pans or trying another seat. I like the look of the C4s. What are you planning on doing to accomodate your 6'-2" frame? A plain bucket (Sparco or Kirkey) is the way to go for clearance, but you lose the classic interior look in my opinion.

I'm using my broken-down stock seats, which are flat as a pancake and really thin. I also moved my pedals away from the seat about 1 1/2" with a spacer. I'm considering having a set of seats made from a set of "Guara" frames (sp?) which seem to fit, and will bolt to the floor. I'm hoping I can get a reasonable fit and appropriate look by using patterned leather for the seat center, and smooth leather for the sides, and not much padding except for some lumbar support. Other ideas?
Yes - both the seat bottom and the seat back are thicker than a stock Pantera seat. I'd estimate that a person 5'10" would fit comfortably if the seats were bolted in place without seat tracks. If you fit, they are very comfortable and supportive. I'm sure almost anyone would fit in a car with dropped pans, but unfortunately mine are still stock. Let me know if you have any interest.
I had driven a 71 with these seats and stock floors.
They are very comfortable but my head was against the roof. I'm 6'2" also.
In a dropped floor pan car they may be the best seats you can use in the Pantera (functionally).
I'm already set with seats so I can't use them, but I sure can recommend them to everyone.
Lars, how did you relocate the pedals 1-1/2"?
Steve Wilkinson sells a polished spacer to take the pedals out that far. He also moved the brake pedal slightly farther away from the gas pedal so my size 13's don't snag (most of the time). The spacer was apparently developed in the Ford days to address complaints about leg room.
That is a great ideal, I just installed that same power booster & master brake cylinder (without spacer) it required a little body work to inner fender as you might be able to see in the picture its a tight fit.

My car has flexible vacuum hose going through floor I don't think you would need to redrill hole.
Wilkinson now manufacturers the spacers, so I imagine he could vary the thickness depending on your booster and other factors. I'm also sure you could disassemble your pedal group and just send him the brake pedal to revise. Give Steve a call - he's closed Mondays. Always been helpful and his prices are fair (I've checked around, and continue to do so!).
Mark can't you just persuade the inner fender a little with a hammer to give you more room for the booster?[/QUOTE]

Thats exactly what you need to do even with out the spacer kit.
I had my pedal assembly out last weekend and they don't come strait out. You have to tilt and insert one side first to get the bar that holds the pedals past the narrow opening in the body. I wonder if this will affect how much spacer you can use.
I'm just under 6'2", with a 33" inseam, and yes, I could use some more leg room. My spacer is 1 1/2" - Don't know what the maximum thickness the spacers can be made is. Give Wilkinson a call tomorrow and he can let you know if there are any limits to the process. Here's another pic to give you a different perspective.

Meanwhile - Anyone out there interested in my seats?

Bill at Wilkinson's did the spacer while I was having some other work done. The process: the spacer goes between the firewall and brake booster. They supply longer bolts. Bill doesn't recommend anything over 1 1/2" max. The spacer is 1/8" thinner at the bottom than the top to angle the booster down to clear the hood. While the pedal assy is out, you can do the mod to the brake pedal to move it to the left. Throttle cable bracket may have to be revised to get pedal to ideal angle. Total job 2 hours, including brake pedal modification. Have fun!
