I've been advised my parts pics are posting up on Facebook. Sure enough there they are. Suspension rigidity kit we sold /shipped to Canada yesterday popped up for sale, using the same pictures we took this week. Careful what you buy off F/B, check the source because as they say, once the $ changes hands....

Facebook is literally a "den of thieves", fortunately the Pantera community is pretty tight and word travels fast, thanks for the 'heads up'.
You might want to look into a process where you can put a large faint watermark text across your photos to prevent their use in such scams.

There is a FaceBook page that is for DeTomaso parts and projects. The Pantera world is not the only one that these scamming thieves are attacking, but the last year has seen a lot of them.
I saw an orange Pantera on FB not long ago for $60K that was likely fraudulent. Do they use stolen accounts? On eBay I once saw push button #1310 (which lives in AZ) for sale in British Columbia and it was obvious to me that it was posted using a stolen account. I know the owner of the car and messaged him. He said his car was in his garage. I then notified eBay that the listing was suspicious and they took it down immediately.
FB marketplace is a cesspool of bad people which spills over into the FB groups. They post pictures of cars for sale and stuff for sale and lure unsuspecting people who think they are getting a "great deal" into sending them money but never produce the goods. FB apparently does not police any of this activity nor gives a sxxx about it happening. I would never buy anything off FB. If somebody is a legit seller, move to PayPal for the purchase and do not send it as money to a friend, but as a purchase. That way you are protected.

FB only seems to care about political content of things being posted. When you report someone that is selling a complete Pantera shell that has already been painted for about $1000.00 dollars along with other parts that are too cheap, FB will tell you that it doesn't violate their community standards.

It's everywhere, even the likes of PayPal and eBay do everything to make it hard to actually contact a human and will do everything to avoid refunding a payment. I pulled for sale listings from eBay after they charged extra shipping after the fact and couldn't give me an explanation why, but also wouldn't refund the charge.
Yes, there are thieves, crooks, and scammers around every corner these days.
I regrettably did not keep any sort of ledger of sales in the last 20 years, but I have conservatively dealt with 250 to 350 individual De Tomaso owners in those years; couple hundred owners here in the USA and a couple dozen around the world from Norway to New Zealand. Dozens of times, my package was on its way before my payment had been received
I have only had a couple of troublesome transactions, both of which were resolved to my satisfaction.
The point I am hoping to make here is that amongst the REAL De Tomaso community, one can feel pretty safe and secure the transaction will be fair and honest.

One should be able to bring this to the attention of the particular user group as a violation of posting.
My buddy moderates several FB groups and is constantly booting people off that violate FB rules.
As mentioned some may not do such a good job, but all you can do is report it and sit back. WIth enuf violations unanswered, I believe that FB will remove the group!
He's due in for a visit in a couple of days. I can broach this subject with him and perhaps bring some better experience to this post!
