Just thought I would post the weight savings from switching to the high torque starter offered on eBay for $65 - many of us have bought this with no reported problems.

Stock Ford starter = 16 pounds, 12 ounces

Replacement = 7 pounds 14 1/2 ounces

Weight saved = 8 pounds 13 1/2 ounces

I would never think that there was that much weight saving.

Along the same lines, I changed from stock (cast iron) heads and intake to aluminum , stock 'headers' to aftermarket and starter to hi torque and was surprised at how much the ride height changed from the weight reduction. I wish I would have measured before the swap but I think it changed the rear ride height by 1.5 to 2.0 inches.
