tach wiring problems...

Hi all, I have a Compu-tronix distributorless ignition system and a FAST EFI ECU. Does anybody know if the tach (which is currently not working)has to be connected to the FAST system or can it be connected directly to the Compu-tronix ignition system?

...I run the Computronix DIS8.
Yes! There is a 'Purple' wire that connects directly to 'A' Electronic Tachometer.
BUT, I do Not have it connected to the Original In-Dash Tach. I have it connected to an Aftermarket Digital Tach. It works perfectly and is Accurate.

I see No Reason why It would Not power the Original Tachometer, although, I did Not test it to Witness That it Worked.

I should have mentioned that I do not have an original tach. It is an Autometer tach. I traced the wires (after having the whole car rewired with an American Autowire universal kit) and found out that a connection under the dash was faulty. But many thanks for your help.
