Doug, My original cable snapped on a ball at the pedal. My new cable has a ball and socket made to stay together. It threads on the cable ends. At the carb I have a locknut, while at the pedal it threads into the accelerator. I got both ends at NAPA. This makes a stronger setup than the original. Now all I need to do is adjust my bolt that makes the pedal stop. I don't want to damage my cable when I "jump on it"
Did you make the new cover identical to the old cover or redesign it?
I may just go with a rod end so it can't slip off the ball. I working out the details.
The thread is very close to a 10-32 sae. The carb end alread has this becasue of the Weber connection to the bellcrank.
Because of relocating the pedals 2" forward, I have had to remout the accellerator seperately to the sheet metal foot box.
I'm still working on all of those stop brakets.
There isn't a lot of room to work down there.
