Tire Date Codes

They are definitely getting up there in age!

I can tell you shops like Discount Tire  will not service them if you get a nail in tire etc. because of their age.😀

Great..so now it looks like Michelin ( my 1st Choice ) no longer makes a ZR rated 255/40/ZR 17.

Any thoughts on an equivalent size ? ( would prefer to stay with Michelin )

I'm pretty sure you can get Pilot Sport PS2's from the Tire Rack in the sizes you need. If they aren't listed on the web site, call them. PS2's are awesome tires! They're a step up from the regular Pilot Sports. 

That article smacks of blame shifting, easy to blame 6 year old tires, not the hoon behind the wheel showing off! I would agree nature of storage can play a large part, a car stored/parked long term parked will undoubtedly develop flat spots on the tires. 

The rears are backordered but I’d commit to a pair ASAP because they probably won’t get very many when they do come in.

Does anyone have thoughts on "Run Flats" or 'ZPs ( Zero Pressure )as Michelin calls them.

Have ZPs gotten to the point where ride quality and performance are not compromised?

In a word, "no". Run-flats give a harsh ride and are heavy. I owned a BMW that came from the factory with them. The best thing I ever did to that vehicle was switch to regular tires. They were cheaper, better handling and much better riding. Even my BMW dealer told me to get rid of the run-flats.
