Finally got 4044 back on the road sat morning with weiand 8209 pump all new silicon hoses, and a performer in place of the torker. It seems that I probably lost 30 or more HP at high RPM(4500-6000) Does anyone have dyno figures to help me out? I miss the power and it looks like I'll be laying on the transaxle for a few more hours to reinstall the Torker........
Take care, Guy

I PUT A TORKER II ON MY CLEVELAND, IT'S THE OLDER "CLOVERLEAF" STYLE, BUT YOUR ENGINE WON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. IT IDLES PERFECT AT 1000 RPM, RIGHT WHERE I LIKE IT FOR TAKING OFF SMOOTH AND EASY FROM A DEAD STOP, NO BOG, NO HESITATION! I DON'T KNOW HOW HIGH IT WILL REV, THE HIGHEST I'VE GONE IS A MEAR 5000 RPM, MAYBE. SINCE I WANTED A "HIGH RISE" INSTEAD OF A "LOW RISE", I TOPPED IT WITH A 1", FOUR HOLE SPACER, TO ADD VOLUME BUT MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE OF SIGNAL. THE TROTTLE RESPONSE IS EXCELLENT! 2" MIGHT BE TOO MUCH, I DON'T KNOW. IT PULLS PLENTY STRONG, AND HAS TONS LEFT TO GO. I LIKE TAKING CARE OF THIS MACHINE, I SHIFT VERY SLOW, CAREFULLY, AND SMOOTH! I DID ALL MY HIGH REVING, SPEED SHIFTING, AND RACING IN MY 400 TRANS-AM, IN MY YOUNGER YEARS, WAY BACK IN THE MEZAZOIC ERA! SO YES! GO WITH THE TORKER II! ALL THE BEST, MARLIN.

I have a Torker intake manifold installed on my modified 351-C in my Pantera. Basic engine specs are as follows: Bore is .030 over stock, stock stroke, hydraulic roller cam installed (.550 lift @ .050, 222 deg. intake, .585 lift @ .050, 232 deg. exhaust), 9.5:1 C/R, 2.25" dia intake valve, stock dia exhaust valve (Tulip Head from B.B. Chevy), ported 4V closed chamber heads ('71), B.G. Gold Claw Carburetor configured for 725 CFM.

This engine configuration is good for 6500 RPM, idles @ 650-800 RPM & runs like hell everywhere in between. There is no sign of power falling off even @ 6500 RPM! Someday, I'll try a Rousch or other high-rise single plane intake, but at the moment, I'm very pleased with the current performance. Good Luck!
A few years ago someone went to all of the work to precisely measure their mile acceleration performance with the Performer and then removed it and did the same test with the Torker. Sounds like it was a lot of work but they wanted to know for sure what way to go with the manifolds. As I recall the difference between the two manifolds was insignificant. He posted the results on the de Tomaso email forum. You can search the forum database from this page http://realbig.com/detomaso/ You do not need to be a forum member to search the database but if you want to participate in the interactive forum you register at this link http://realbig.com/mailman/listinfo/detomaso. Its a super good resource for Pantera owners or owners to be, probably a little more technical than this site but like most owners I subscribe to both sites. For more detailed info on how to use the site check this link http://www.panteraplace.com/Page91.htm

PS
I found the info at http://realbig.com/detomaso/1999-02/526.html The Performer with a small spacer came out on top!
