My SS vent line where it attaches to the tranny has a black male to male adapter threaded on the part that holds the line and smooth with no threads where it goes in the tranny. Are you supposed to glue it in? There has to be a better way to keep this from working lose.

Mine is "press" fitted. Loosely. I have a SS line to runs to the rear of the ZF that has a bracket that holds everything in place.
I threaded mine and put an AN fitting on it then bent a line in a stainless tube.
You don't need anything huge on it for a vent. Many transmissions just use a 1/16" hole drilled in the cover plate and that is adequate.
It was just pressed in. No reason for it to come loose unless someone was climbing around back there and kicked it.You could glue the metal part, I suppose. The rubber hose originally hung down near the right rear tire and the paranoid among us worried about blowing tranny lube under the tire and sliding, so they re-rout the hose in all sorts of directions. But to get any meaningful lube out of the vent, you'd have to massively overfill the ZF, then drive it hard for an hour or so. I've seen cars with clean ZFs, with no hose at all.
