After a review of what comes up in the search function (10 years ago info)- Mangusta upper door frame rubber used to be sold by international auto parts, but the website no longer has the part number as available.

Reportedly, the Mangusta part is similar to early Pantera upper door frame rubber. Would this from Hall possibly work?

On my car currently, it looks like weatherstripping in a simple tube that has been sliced open and smashed down flat with the open end facing inward to the car. Is this what it is supposed to be??

Has anyone replaced theirs successfully?

...Good question! The Mangusta parts manual only shows a single strip 3.3meters long (and a single part number). The Pantera catalog shows different left and right part numbers (2020A and 2030A). Wilkinson picture implies that the pieces are cut and formed for left/right, but it looks like Hall and Maseratinet provide raw material that must be installed left/right. Also, the Hall pricing may be OK for Pantera length, but not clear that any of these are length correct for Mangusta. Probably just need to ask, but it looks like everyone has at least something correct...Lee

Here is the link to pantera weatherstripping from Wilkinson

Sounds like from LeeA's information the Hall and Maseratinet stuff may be more correct/original than the ones from Wilkinson which are good for right and left only?
